The Smell of School

They say that smell is one of the most powerful stimulants known to man, or in this case boy or girl. One whiff of a damp towel and you may be whisked back 30 or more years to a cold Monday afternoon in winter and the smell of the downstairs changing rooms after rugby practise. Sweaty socks remind me of the gym while eggy smells remind me of the science block. Different parts of Moseley had their own smell, cabbage of course near the dinning hall, strangely enough polo mints for the woodwork room, rubber in the Latin room (what did Doc Martin get up to in there?), poster paints for Art and so on.

Part of The Moseleian Associations remit is to organise reunions and social event to take former pupils and staff back to those sights, sounds and smells. Since reforming in 1995 there have been a number of highly successfully events organised by the association including...

Maurice Paramore

We must sadly report that Maurice Paramore, a founder member of The Moseleians Association, passed away on Friday 18th January 2013 with his family at his bedside. It is an immense loss to the Moseleians. Maurice has been there from the start and has done so much for the School and the association. He was always there with wise counsel and a ready wit. We shall miss him.
