Harry Arthur (aka Camp-Simpson) Simpson
Congratulations to Harry who celebrates his 100th birthday on 16th December. Harry attended Moseley Grammar School from 1925 to 1929 but it took him a further 83 years to join the Moseleians Association which he did in 2012 at 97 years young. A keen fishing and yachts man Harry served in the RAF from 1935 to 1937 and RAFVR from 1937 to 1945.
During his career he was a busy industrialist, originally with Bakelite Ltd 1930-39. He was founder chairman and chief executive of Flexible Abrasives Ltd 1947-65, director of John Oakey & Sons Ltd 1963-65, founder chairman and chief executive of Arrow Abrasives Ltd 1966-93, founder chairman and chief executive of Electro-Motive Ltd 1995-2004; European Committee Executive Concerning Safety of Power Tools 1989-2004, a member of the Executive Committee DIN German Institute for Standardisation 2007 and a fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society.
